The Full Story
Some more about me!
I have a degree in History and Politics a Masters in Politics and Irish Studies and went on to do my PGCE in Primary Education. I grew up in Ireland and moved to England aged 18, to attend University in Liverpool. I now live in St Helens with my wife and two daughters . I began teaching in 2011, until I left the classroom in 2023 after the birth of our first daughter. The burn out, management pressures and lack of investment in the education system left me feeling I wasn't able to give the children what they needed. This is what led me to mentoring and tutoring on a 121 basis for a Foundation. This experience has been amazing, to spend 121 time with children and really get to know them. I have been able to meet their needs and get back to why I became a teacher in the first place...to make a difference!
Fast forward 2 years and here I am, establishing Thrive Hive Education in a bid to offer my broad experience to as many children and families as I am able to. I like to think of different ways to do things and reach children, so innovation is always on the mind.
Alongside being a Teacher, I am also a Level 2 Rugby Union Coach and Gaelic Football Coach (both of which I play myself when I can!). I also enjoy running and completed by first Marathon in 2024...with another planned for October 2025.
If you feel like you or your child is stuck with the current system and needs an extra boost or a fresh approach, then I am the man for you.
